Ante los problemas causados por la pandemia, también en materia educacional, los apoyos escolares municipales inmersos en los Núcleos Barriales 2021, están cumpliendo una importante labor, contribuyendo a la asistencia personalizada de alumnos en lo que a estudios se refiere.
Son 210 niñas y niños del nivel primario y otros 26 del secundario, quienes en la mayoría de los casos muestran constancia en los estudios y asistencia perfecta, aunque cada espacio presenta sus particularidades.
Ese número se acrecienta mes a mes a medida que cada barrio va conociendo las bondades del programa totalmente gratuito para los alumnos y sus familias.
Se cuenta con el material didáctico necesario y se respetan los protocolos de bioseguridad exigidos para las tareas escolares.
Muchos cumplen sus deberes dados en cada escuela porque no lo pueden hacer en sus hogares al no contar con el apoyo de sus padres o de algún familiar para realizarlos y otros suelen pedir ayuda para fortalecer algunos conocimientos.
En once espacios diferentes, ubicados en diversos barrios de la ciudad, principalmente en zonas carenciadas, desde el Área de Centros Vecinales, se viene aplicando está política pública hace 3 años y con un crecimiento constante de lugares y docentes.
Hay que destacar que aparte de los Centros Vecinales, hay otro nexo importante que son las directoras y docentes de las instituciones educativas del Nivel Primario, el Hospital Regional en lo referente a psicología y distintas áreas del municipio, ya que la situación se aborda en diferentes temáticas.
De esta manera se apuntala la educación, sin descuidar los derechos de niñas, niños, adolescentes y sus familias.
De los 11 apoyos escolares en funcionamiento, 10 corresponden al nivel primario y por solicitud de las instituciones de la educación del secundario, se habilitó un apoyo para los estudiantes que necesitan la asistencia especialmente en las asignaturas de lengua y matemática.

El apoyo escolar para el nivel secundario se brinda en el Hogar de Día “Renacer a la Vida”, Ecuador 38, los martes y jueves, de 15:00 a 17:00, y los lunes y miércoles, en el mismo horario, para otro grupo.
